Organic farming is environmentally friendly, protects drinking water, soil and air, and avoids and reduces the chemical residue of synthetic pesticides in food.

Organic farming is clearly controlled by EU regulation and the regulations of other states; depending on the kind of regulations set down, it may be subject to regular inspections of its production methods, processes, trade and imports. Such regulation protects both consumers and traders against fraud; it also ensures that product packages are labeled as ‘organic’ only if the products themselves have been manufactured in strict accordance with regulating guidelines.
